About Theatre of the NO
Theatre of the NO is Athens’ first English-speaking theatre and an international cultural hub dedicated to theatre, live music and artistic exchange. Located in the heart of Athens, it brings together Greek and international artists and audiences, creating a meeting point for different cultures, artistic traditions and perspectives.
The name NO reflects a distinctly Greek instinct while expressing the theatre’s philosophy: No Borders, No Convention, No Expectations. It represents openness, artistic freedom and a willingness to explore new voices and ideas.
Since opening in April 2024 with Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot, Theatre of the NO has developed a distinctive theatrical identity, with a particular affinity for Theatre of the Absurd, alongside classical and contemporary works. All productions are presented in English with Greek subtitles.
Live music is equally central to the NO, with more than 100 music nights throughout the year, spanning jazz, blues, world and ethnic music, Greek traditional and contemporary music, improvisation and original projects.
As a non-profit cultural organisation, Theatre of the NO supports artists and new creative work through performances, collaborations, workshops, residencies and international projects.
The intimate scale of the venue creates a direct connection between performers and audiences, making each performance a close and immediate experience.

Managing Director’s Note —
THEATRE OF THE NO is a space where theatre and music converge to create experiences that transcend the boundaries of language and culture. Rooted in artistic freedom and the exchange of ideas, we aspire to become an English-speaking multi-cultural hub, open to creators and audiences from every corner of the world.
In our performances, tradition enters into dialogue with contemporary creation, offering audiences a multidimensional journey that unites diverse cultures on a shared canvas of expression. Our vision is to cultivate a vibrant cultural community, where art becomes a bridge of understanding and coexistence. With the support of our sponsors, THEATRE OF THE NO will continue to develop collaborations, encourage new voices, and highlight the power of art as a universal language.
