The innovative music ensemble ALEF takes the stage at Theatre of the NO on Sunday, March 1 at 21:00, presenting a unique blend of Greek traditional music and modern electronic and experimental sounds. Four talented musicians come together to explore the intersection of song and theatre, creating performances that are as visually engaging as they are musically adventurous.
Their repertoire spans reimagined songs from the Greek tradition alongside global musical influences, filtered through styles such as World, Blues, Rock, Trip Hop, and Ambient music. On stage, percussion instruments from around the world, electric guitar, and electronic jazz keyboards intertwine with the soulful voice of Marianna Geka, producing a sound that is at once ritualistic and contemporary. Each performance transforms familiar melodies into evolving, immersive narratives, making every concert a unique experience.
The name ALEF symbolizes beginnings and new horizons. The ensemble has performed at leading music venues, cultural spaces, and festivals across Athens, including Theocharakis Foundation, Jazzet, Black Duck, Underflow, Eliart, Avlaia Theatre, Chez Michel, Polymixano, Fouar, and Zp87, as well as in other cities in Greece. Their debut album, “Synastria”, was released in October and is available on all major digital platforms.
