Theatre of the NO welcomes Aris Papadopoulos Quintet on Thursday, October 8 at 21.00. A contemporary jazz ensemble with a distinctive aesthetic and a strong focus on creative interaction and improvisation.
The quintet presents a programme based on original compositions written and arranged for a dynamic line-up of two horns, piano, double bass and drums. Their music moves through different textures, atmospheres and expressive intensities, creating a vibrant dialogue between composition and the spontaneity of improvisation.
The five musicians explore the relationship between structure and freedom. With experimental improvisation at the core of their approach, they reshape the compositions in real time, enriching them with elements that move between abstract, open-ended soundscapes and the energy of mainstream jazz.
The evening promises intensity, sensitivity and artistic risk, revealing the ensemble’s fresh perspective and its deep connection to contemporary jazz expression.
