THEATRE OF THE NO, Athens’ first English-speaking theatre,  presents a special night celebrating the music of the legendary Miles Davis Fronting the ensemble is trumpet virtuoso Manos Theodosakis, joined by an outstanding lineup of musicians: world-renowned saxophonist Gilad Atzmon, rising star bassist Giorgos Pantazopoulos, and acclaimed drummer Panagiotis Themas, each a respected figure in the local jazz scene. This special concert honors Davis’s profound impact on jazz, tracing his evolution from his early days with Charlie Parker to his groundbreaking collaborations with Cannonball Adderley, John Coltrane, and beyond. The performance will explore Davis’s later experiments with funk and hip-hop.

As one of the most innovative and influential figures in Black American music, Miles Davis redefined modern jazz. After joining Charlie Parker in 1944, it took him just four years to establish himself as a star. His sound defined modern jazz, and his mentorship fostered the careers of legends like Wayne Shorter, John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderley, Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter, and Tony Williams., Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Bill Evans, Ron Carter, and Tony Williams.
