“One Inch of Love”

Andreas Polyzogopoulos & Giorgos Palamiotis

at THEATRE OF THE NO

Saturday, January 25th

Theatre of the NO, Athens’ first English speaking  theatre, proudly presents the musical duo “Polypala”, featuring Andreas Polyzogopoulos (trumpet, effects) and Giorgos Palamiotis (bass, effects). On Saturday, January 25th, at 22.30, the duo will take the stage to perform both new material and compositions from their debut album, “One Inch of Love” , a work deeply inspired by nature and dedicated to reconnecting with the natural world.
Polypala invites the audience on a captivating musical journey filled with sounds, imagery, and emotions. As the artists themselves explain:
“The album you hold in your hands was recorded under an olive tree at Panagiotis’s apiary, in Tasias and Nikolas’ olive grove in Lagada, Amorgos, and at Plato’s Academy Park in Athens. We hope to share with you some of the images and feelings we experienced during this creative process.”
The track titles evoke real places, such as “Keros” and “Mt. Takao,” natural phenomena like “Apiary Wind” and “Solstice,” as well as dreamlike moments captured in “A Cloud Passes Behind the Moon” and “Trees Breathing by the Sea.”
Through their compositions, Polypala crafts a new musical “language” that encapsulates the unique, archetypal essence of the Greek landscape while transcending geographic and social boundaries. Their music blends influences ranging from artists like “Harold Budd” and “Brian Eno” to traditional Indonesian gamelan orchestras and Japanese gagaku ensembles.
