Theatre of the NO presents The Jazz of Paris – The French Connection on Saturday, 10 October at 21:30, an evening dedicated to French jazz, chanson and the distinctive musical world of Paris.
With Gilad Atzmon as musical director, the five-piece ensemble takes the audience on a musical journey that begins with the swing tradition of Django Reinhardt’s Manouche jazz, moves through the melodies of Michel Legrand, and reaches the iconic songs of Édith Piaf and Jacques Brel.
The ensemble features Gilad Atzmon on saxophone and clarinet, Tali Atzmon on vocals, Yiannis Pappadopoulos on piano, Giorgos Pantazopoulos on bass, and Panagiotis Themas on drums. Their musical interplay leaves room for improvisation and spontaneous interaction, bringing a lively and contemporary jazz dimension to the repertoire.
The Jazz of Paris – The French Connection brings together different strands of the French musical tradition, from jazz and chanson to the rich heritage of film music, evoking the distinctive sound and atmosphere that have long been associated with Paris.
