Miranda Verouli celebrates 30 years dedicated to Brazilian music with a special live performance on Friday, October 30 at THEATRE OF THE NO

From her first encounter with Brazilian music to the present day, this journey has grown into a deeply personal relationship with an entire musical world  from samba, bossa nova, MPB and choro to the rhythms of Bahia, as well as the Portuguese language, and above all, the sense of emotion and freedom that lies at the heart of Brazilian music.

For “30 Anos Brasil,” Miranda Verouli joins her band on stage at THEATRE OF THE NO for a programme spanning different eras and expressions of Brazilian music. From Antônio Carlos Jobim, João Gilberto and Gal Costa to Caetano Veloso, Sérgio Mendes and Marisa Monte, the repertoire brings together beloved Brazilian songs with pieces that hold a special place in Miranda’s own artistic journey.

“30 Anos Brasil” is more than an anniversary concert. It is a musical retrospective of a relationship that has evolved over three decades — a relationship that has gone beyond repertoire to become a language of communication, a source of inspiration and a starting point for significant artistic encounters.

Often referred to as an “Ambassador of Brazilian Music in Greece,” Miranda Verouli was awarded in 2018 the Medal of Knight of the Order of Rio Branco by Brazil’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in recognition of her contribution to promoting Brazilian music in Greece.

A singer and songwriter with a long-standing presence on Greece’s jazz and world music scene, Verouli has developed a distinctive approach to Brazilian repertoire. Her extended stays in Brazil and her collaborations with local musicians, combined with her jazz background, have contributed to the authenticity and individuality of her interpretation.
