“From Swing to Rock ’n’ Roll”
Vanila Swing

 Friday, May 15

live at Theatre of the No

Theatre of the No presents “From Swing to Rock ’n’ Roll”, performed by Vanila Swing on Friday, May 15 at 21:30, in a unique musical journey from the American juke joints and ballrooms of the era to the clubs and concert arenas shaped by legendary figures such as Elvis Presley, Little Richard, and Chuck Berry, among others.

This performance follows the evolution of music from the elegant swing of the 1930s and 1940s to the explosive energy of rock ’n’ roll in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. Through songs that defined decades, an era comes to life in which rhythm, groove, and stage presence shaped a new musical world. The transition from swing to rock ’n’ roll remains one of the most exciting journeys in music history, uniting the sophistication of big orchestras with the raw energy of the street.

On stage, iconic figures such as Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Ruth Brown, Gene Vincent, Carl Perkins, Wanda Jackson, as well as the legendary Elvis Presley and Jerry Lee Lewis, come to life.

Vanila Swing, with a 15-year career and countless performances across Greece, appear at the Theatre of the No, a landmark venue for Athens’ jazz scene that hosts artists from all over the world.
