6ft Jazz Trio brings their legendary Jam Sessions to Theatre of the NO with two unforgettable Thursday nights on October 9 and 23 at 21.30. Since 2022, the trio has cultivated a live improvisation tradition that draws dozens of musicians and jazz enthusiasts, and this year they return with even more energy.

The evening begins with a short, four-piece set by the trio, followed by an open Jam Session, where everyone—musicians and listeners alike—is invited to join. Full equipment is provided, including drums, double bass, piano, a microphone for vocals, and a guitar amplifier. The repertoire centers on Jazz Standards, emphasizing collaboration, respect, and an authentic jazz vibe.

The name 6ft Jazz Trio began as a playful nod to the musicians’ height and soon became their permanent moniker. The trio consists of Stathis Panagou on double bass and compositions, Michalis Vargiami on piano, and Nikos Alexopoulos on drums, whose deep connection and shared love for jazz turn every performance into a vibrant, improvisational experience.

Their music honors the roots of jazz, turning improvisation into a captivating, live experience. In 2023, they released the EP “6ft Trio”, blending rhythmic ostinatos with cinematic storytelling, and their second album is already in the works, expected in 2026.
