“CARNAVAL!”
Saturday, January 31
THEATRE OF THE NO
The renowned performer of Brazilian music, Miranda Verouli, returns to the stage of Theatre of the NO on Saturday 31 January at 22.30, for a unique musical journey inviting us to celebrate Carnival with the sounds, rhythms, and melodies of Brazil.
Together with the exceptional musicians of her band, Miranda Verouli presents a high-energy program, featuring songs by famous composers such as Antônio Carlos Jobim, Sergio Mendes, Caetano Veloso, as well as popular traditional pieces. The result is an irresistible atmosphere that encourages the audience to dance as if they were on the beaches, in the nightclubs, and on the streets of Rio de Janeiro, at the heart of the world’s most famous Carnival.
Miranda Verouli is a singer and songwriter with many years of experience in the Greek jazz and world music scene. Her collaborations with local musicians during her extended stays in Brazil, combined with her jazz training, have given her a unique authenticity in performing the Brazilian repertoire.
Recognized as the “Ambassador” of Brazilian music in Greece, Miranda Verouli was honored in 2018 by the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the Knight’s Medal of the Order of Rio Branco, for her contribution to promoting Brazilian music in Greece.
